Forestry works at Middleroom and Bickenhall Wood
The Forestry Commission is undertaking thinning work in Middleroom Wood and Bickenhall Wood, through its contractor Kleen Kutt, during November.
The purpose of this routine work is to take out a proportion of the trees so that the remainder can grow on into better quality timber. Conifer is also being removed from broadleaved areas to create purer broadleaved woodland.
The Herepath will not be closed except possibly for short periods when machinery is operating close to the bridleway. Please adhere to advice or warnings on signage on site.
There will be some local disruption however, and the ground will be cut up, especially after recent rain. Harvester tracks will be reinstated after the work is completed.
FC apologises for any disruption and for the short term appearance of harvested areas.
