Welcome to Neroche
A partnership for forest, land and people
in the Blackdown Hills
Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
From 2005 to 2011 the Neroche Landscape Partnership Scheme was generously supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund and a range of local partners, working closely with the local community. During those years, together we laid the foundations for protecting, celebrating and benefitting the heritage of the northern Blackdown Hills, for quiet enjoyment, education and training in countryside skills, using the public forest estate as a base.
From October 2011 Neroche moves into a new phase, developing new initiatives in the Forest and working with new partners in the wider AONB, while maintaining the value of everyone's previous investments of hard work, heart and soul into this special landscape.
This website is your gateway to Neroche and the landscape of the northern Blackdown Hills. The area offers a public forest full of wildlife, a long distance Herepath Trail for walking and horse riding, a rich historical landscape to discover, and a living classroom for all ages to learn and share knowledge and skills about the land.
If you are new to this area, use this site to help you explore. If you are part of Neroche and its many networks already, use this site to keep in touch and make your contribution to our shared countryside.
