Wellington Local History Society
The Society aims to promote knowledge about Wellington and its history by organising talks and visits, running the Museum and publishing books on local topics. The society is run entirely by volunteers. New volunteers are always welcome. Any amount of time you can give us would be appreciated. Full training will be given! Members receive a quarterly newsletter. 2008 Opening Times and Dates The Museum re-opens for the 2008 season on Tuesday 25 March. Opening hours will be 10.00 am to 4.00 pm Monday to Friday 10.00 am to 1.00 pm Saturday Events for Spring 2008 All events are held at Wellington Junior School, unless otherwise stated. Entry is £1 minimum donation Thursday 27 March 7.30pm Wellington in 1908 – reports from the Wellington Weekly News – a talk by Colin Spackman of Wellington Museum and Local History Society Thursday 24 April 7.30pm Wellington Monument – its current state and future plans – a talk by Bridget Litchfield from the National Trust Thursday 22 May 2.00pm Visit to Blake Museum, Bridgwater. Life membership is available for those of retirement age only.
