Taking part

Butterfly Identification and Monitoring picnic - Saturday 24th July

Join John Davis from Butterfly Conservation for an introduction to butterfly identification and monitoring.  Over a gentle walk, we will learn about  butterflies and their habitats, and about the wildflowers on which they rely.  Then we will join the butterflies for a picnic in the fields.

 Bring a picnic!

Areas within Buckland Wood and Quants are rich in butterfly and wildflower species, and we are hoping to find people interested in learning how to identify and monitor the butterfly populations in a number of sites over the Neroche area. Monitoring is operated by groups of volunteers - each doing a few transects during the season to share the commitment.

If you are unable to attend the picnic, but are interested in becomming involved with butterfly monitoring, please contact Jilly or Caroline at the Neroche office.
